My first woodworking project. Top is solid maple, about 1.5” thick. Stained with General Finishes Java Gel, finished with 3 coats satin polyacrylic. Bottom is just basic 2×6 pine with the rounded corners knocked off, painted with a cream/white latex paint. Turn out great, not perfect but I learned allot doing it and my next one will be that much better! Couldn’t have done it without the help from you guys on this forum. With all the great existing threads, and the direct answers and advice to my many questions, we have a table that I am very proud of. This one will sit 4, mainly a breakfast table for the kids. The next will be a similar design but a 8 seat rectangle.

A very nice first project. Looks like a great finish you achieved on that table top.

Really nice work. You should be proud.

Table top is NICE but the leg/support system is dynamite. There’s a lot going on down there and you hardly mentioned it

Thanks eveyone for the positive feedback.

@recycle1943 , thanks, the bottom was allot of work! Allot of cut-fit, cut-fit, to get the angles just right. Every piece is angled. I did learn to sand all the wood smooth before assembling on something like this next time. It was very hard sanding all the nooks by hand after it was glued and screwed.

The legs set is realy unique…interesting construction. The main upper plate looks fantastic – you can’t miss with that colour. By the way – awesome white/brown combination.
