Our woodturning club’s President’s Challenge for this month is to turn a square bowl. My version…curly walnut. Approximately 9” x 5”. Finish is wipe on poly thinned with 50% mineral spirits

I held the rectangular block with cole jaws off center and turned a small tenon. Rounded over the edge as well while still working on the back.

Reversed the piece and held it in a one way chuck in the small tenon.

Left the top flat and turned the shallow bowl on top.

Hand sanded.
