Had a supply of Ash scraps…that was resawn to 1/4”-3/8” thick….rather than throw them all on the firepit, tried to make something out of them.

two similar, but different Recipe boxes….one has finger joint corners, the other has through dovetails,,,all handcut…
Tops are about 7” long, maybe 5” wide, not counting the finger grip. 1 coat of Puritan Pine ( with a drizzle of dark walnut added) followed by a coat of gloss poly.

Lettering is just stick-on letters I bought at Wall E World. hardware came from both Hobby Lobby, and Menard’s

The Boss has claimed one of these…not sure which one, yet. The other will go to either a friend, or, IF my Daughter wants one…

Screws were very small, hand-powered screwdrivers and a North Bros. push drill were used.

just some scraps of Ash..

There is something about a box with finger joints that just looks good. Nice grain patterns as well.

Very good use of “scraps”!! I like side handles and feet. The lid design is a nice feature. Thanks for sharing.
