Quick scrap wood project. Not too shabby for a first go, I reckon :) Handle is mahogany, blade is oak.

Very nicely done Lynne, and the rivets are an attractive feature also. ;)
But where’s the cake? ;)

Looks TSA approved….just kidding. Love it as I HATE when a person grabs one of my Japanese knives to cut something in a metal or glass container. Think I will have to make one.

A very well made artistic piece!

I am sure some of the rest of the LJ bunch will be “borrowing/AKA-stealing” your idea too.

Thanks all. Steal away, great way to use scrap wood! Very satisfying to make as well.

Real nice cake knife, Lynne.
Yesterday I bought some 1×4 pine lumber from Menards and I was surprised to see it was from New Zealand!!!

cheers, Jim

Thanks a lot Jim. Fancy that; it’s probably Radiata pine, a California native originally, that grows really well in NZ!
