I made this bed with a lot of help from a good friend of mine who works as a timber framer/carpenter. It is made mainly from oak cut offs from timber framing but the head board is actually made from a piece of an old 10ft door which we sanded down and cut to shape. The night stands are very simple but turned out well. The top and back is cedar and the base is a crate from Walmart. The goose neck lamp is mounted directly to the top of the night stand with the switch mounted on the bottom to easily turn them on and off from bed.

Nice looking bed and a job well done. Timber framers are a unique breed and good you have one for a friend. Thanks for sharing.
