There is a woman that I work with that loves the old Star Trek as much as I do, so I was going to make her a little gift It is made from Cherry both the base and the badge. If you look at Captain Kirks badge on his shirt you will see the special star on the badge, it had taken some work to get it to look just right. The base is 3.5 inches round and 3/4 inch thick and the badge that is hanging from a fishing tackle line started out as 1.5 inches long and 3/4 inches thick that I attached to a metal rod that I bent to shape.
The badge that hangs down moves around when the wind blows or if you touch it. I’m sure she will put it on her coffee table or book shelf
The badge and star was cut out on a scroll saw. First time making something with the scroll saw that I’ve had for 5 years, not sure why I’ve not used it before now.

Just used varathane gloss on the wood, nothing more

Hope that she loves it.
Now I’m interested in seeing your next scrollsaw project. ;)
