Watch and learn how to make a Live Edge Slab Coffee Table with a “Zipper”/ Inlaid Stitches in the center. In this video I show you the steps i took to break down the materials and make this piece of awesome statement furniture using fairly basic woodworking techniques.

In my new workshop I have a large showroom that will be shared and occupied with my buddy Seth, who is the owner of Toll Gate Revival, Which is a vintage goods and design company. We’ve been friends for a while now and wanted to combine forces. In the new show room I wanted to place a couple pieces, and I immediately thought to use live edge and help show off some of my favorite styles of work. I obviously took this build to another level. But, with that, this look is really cool and there is some awesome techniques in it that can apply to a broad spectrum of woodworking.

Be sure to check out the full video HERE!

I realize John is a hot shot former NFL player turned woodworker, but 17 posts with 17 projects tells me he doesn’t give enough of a crap about our comments to say thanks.

He just posts the project, get praise that we don’t even know if he reads, and plugs his video.

Hey Rich,
not responding is not intentional, the forum is not very mobile friendly and I use my phone for a lot of my content. Also, I share my content to here to help spread inspiration, im not asking for money or anything in return, jut trying to spread some woodworking positivity.

Thanks for checking out my stuff though

John

Huh. You know, one thing I’ve always enjoyed about Lumberjocks is how incredibly positive and supportive the community is. So I find it a bit weird that someone would, out of the blue, criticize a member for how they choose to use a social medium.

With that off my chest, let me confess that I am, as a rule, not a big fan of the live edge trend, but this piece has me rethinking that bias. The stitching is a creative and attractive touch. Nice piece.

I see the NFL flair to the piece. Nice work.
