I put a post and a link up on my dorset custom furniture blog today about the Custom Woodworking Magazine 2011 Portfolio Awards … We were pleased to get an honorable mention for The Duck Bed, pictures of which I posted here back in April or May … A reader emailed me today asking for instructions on carving the pine cone finials and i added that post a few minutes ago … Also, the last two pictures here show two shots of a 16' kitchen island project we're currently working on many more photos including turning the big columns in that post …

The duck bed is absolutely beautiful. The finials are lovely, and I can think of so many ways I could use them… if only I could carve. :) As for the kitchen all I can say is holy sh*!!!!!!!!!
