I used some figured walnut and birdeye maple for the board.
If you do not like sanding, do not try this project !!!!

Pièces cut using a scroll and some patterns found on the net. Lot of fun !!

Very well done! It’s all beautiful, the board and the pieces. Excellent wood choice!

Very nice! Love chess sets. Made one in Junior High then forty years later, made another. Got me into turning. Think I might have to try one like this.
