This is one of my latest projects where I tied the existing mantle into new built-in cabinets on either side. Understanding the balance of opinion on TVs over the fireplace, this project features such with wiring behind the wall. The electronic cabinet features a vent fan on a thermostat. Finished on Nov. 2, the owner didn’t even want to wait for the paint to dry to load the shelves (the paint was dry). For me, this is always the best part of the project. It says a lot about the level of appreciation delivered. Thanks for looking.

I hear you about the TV over the fireplace. Looks great but it’s terrible considering the ergonomics of a home theater. TVs should be about 4 ft. to center off the floor.

We have some friends we watch the football games with who have a similar cabinet and TV set up, only the L shaped couch we always sat on is perpendicular to the TV or sideways. By half time, my neck hurts from looking up and to the left. Me and my wife would have a neck ache for 2-3 days.
Now we secretly race them to the other couch! Ha!

Problem is, I know if I say something, I’ll end up volunteering to rebuild the whole thing, for free.
And lots of beer and pizza, of course.

Your client couldn’t even wait for you to put on the door pulls! Jeeez!

Nice cabinet.

Have your say...
