I needed some extra storage in my bunk room at the fire station. My station is the oldest in the city, and the sleeping areas are quite small. This Walnut, and Maple plywood we’re not being used in my shop, so here is what I came up with. I made it chair height, so you could sit on it also.

Thanks, I have had a few requests. I should clarify, the Walnut is solid wood, only the maple is plywood.

“My station is the oldest one in the city” – What’s the population of Lone Jack these days? ;)) Very nice work, Eric, and I’m sure it’s full already! And, most importantly, thank you for taking care of our town!!!!!

Looks great Eric. Nothing better than maple and walnut together. We’re getting ready to totally remodel a station and so house has to move in with house 1. That will be fun for a long time having everyone in the same bunk room and kitchen and day room.

Kim, I don’t work as a fireman here in Lone Jack, I just live here. I work for the Independence Fire Department. The station I’m at was built in the early 60’s.

Bill, I love the combination of walnut and maple also. I pair those up quite often.Good luck with your up coming move, I know what that is like.

You don’t have to say their name, but do you guys have anyone on MOTF1?
There was a guy on the TF with us that I went thru training with who worked somewhere south of KC. A few years ago he passed away after having a heart attack due to acall. Did you know him?
