my boss retired after 45 years at our organization. the organization got him and his wife a grizzly bear tour and asked if I could build a puzzle box to put it in. I built two.

The first is a puzzle box I have made before for staff Christmas exchanges. After completing this one out of oak I decided I could throw something else together really quick to further confuse and frustrate. a simple mitered pine box with birch dovetail keys. One end is completely glued and fixed, the other, push on the keys to remove the end and open the box.

It was very well received by a man I am very much going to miss working with.

Very cool. Sounds like the perfect gift for a special friend.

Nothing beats receiving a special gift from a special friend. What you made might look like a simple storage box but the intricate details definitely tell the recipient how much hardwork you have put in signifying the hardwork a friendship usually needs.
