These are a couple of pens I recently made as gifts. One is bloodwood and the other is lignum vitae.

After acquiring a lathe [and touching one for the first time] in the last few years, I have a whole, new appreciation for the art that is these.

Nice job.

Can be a very additive hoby, maybe tell the style of pen and finish used?

New Series rollerball from Berea Hardwoods. Finish is EEE Ultra Shine Paste Wax and then Shellawax Friction Polish.

I second the addiction. If you find a really nice bit of wood, you’re going to end up collecting it all until you can find the time to take them out of storage and make really pretty pieces! And even more so if you actually use the pens at the end of the day. It’s a simple and definitely engaging project for even the beginners to love!
