Wood Toy Loader and Dump Truck

In 2016, I started building our new house, acting as general contractor and doing a lot of the construction work myself. Since that time I have not really done any woodworking. The new house is almost complete, as is my new workshop, so I am quite eager to get back into the workshop.

Since I still have work to do on the new house (mainly trim work and finish painting), I don’t want to commit myself tackling any complicated woodworking projects. Otherwise the house will never get completed!

I enjoy seeing posts of wood toys so I decided to use up some scraps that I have been saving for a long time.

I used the hefty dump truck and hefty loader plans. The dump truck is made from scrap pine, walnut and roasted maple and is about 7.5” high, 9” long and 6” wide. The loader is made from scrap MDF and is about 7.8” tall, 9” long and 5” wide. The trailer is also made from pine, walnut and roasted maple. The 2 1/4” wheels and caps are purchased.

These were fun little projects that helped me excercise my “woodworking muscles ” that I have not used in a long while.

Wonderful job. They look ready to start moving dirt.

You need to get back into the workshop full time.
That’s where your passion and talent shine.

Great work

Oh I think you’ve done a little woodworking since the house …..
Nice work on these but they need a little marquetry logo.
:-)

Nice job. I see a lot of details with a lot of pieces. I know whoever receives these will have them forever.

Peter,

Saw that you posted. Maybe a new ave for you to create? Good that your back in gear, or are those automatic shifter vehicles. LOL!
