About a year ago, the base of the huge plum tree in our garden split in half. The tree survived, and we were blessed with a significant amount of firewood. Of course, I spirited some away for projects just like this one :)

Thanks everyone :) John – I made some plum wine a few years back and it was amazing. I was going to do it again this year, but we didn’t get many plums because the tree is recuperating. Next year, hopefully!
