This was a fun little project to make. The golf ball is trapped inside the 12 piece burr puzzle. As with all burr puzzles, there is a trick to solving it.

very interesting and well done!
It is similar to a 24 piece puzzle with enclosed box that I found in a Woodcarving & Whittling book given to me for Christmas in 1947. The book had a copyright date in the 1930’s. I made this puzzle in 1950:

-- Phil Allin - There are mountain climbers and people who talk about climbing mountains. The climbers have "selfies" at the summit!

Really cool! I love those wood puzzles but have to admit that they are the reason I did not do woodworking for 20 years (my shop teacher in Junior High School made us make those – I was great at solving the puzzles which he hated, but I was not good at making them which he seemed to take great joy in pointing out at every opportunity. Did not pick up a piece of sandpaper again until I was in my 30s.)

Thanks for posting.

Funny…I’m the opposite. I’ve made about 25 puzzles but it takes me longer than I would like to admit to solve most of them.
