This is obviously a valentine box. It was made for my granddaughter – almost four years old. The box is from a cnc project on the vectric website. It was a fun projects and it was a very precise project to cut and put together. The woods are mahogany and maple. The dowels used are maple 1/4 inch dowels. It is hard to tell from the pictures but there is a heart shaped mahogany backing to the dowels so it is a completely closed box behind the dowels. The dowel holes (and there are a lot) were a challenge as the 1/4” dowel rods were not as precise as the holes, but after glue up all worked out. The finish is shellac.

I will fill the heart with candy and I have the feeling granddaughter will care more about the candy than the box!!

I’m sure she will like the box too, especially after she eats all the candy. The box will be a great memory of all that good candy. Nice design and robust enough for a 4 year old.
