Happy New Years my fellow woodworkers. Its been a while since I’ve been able to post projects! I wanted to update you all on some of my fun new projects over the past year.
What do you all think????
Looking forward to hearing your feedback and if you have some new ideas….I’m always looking for a challenge ;).
The woods used up above are Ebony, Rosewood, Kingwood, Whiskey Barrel, and Olivewood.
I am also very excited to announce that I have become one of the official guitar string jewelers for Rock The Dogs! I get to work with some of the most awesome rock stars guitar strings to raise money to help save dogs lives!
Cheers to a great 2019!! May your sawdust be plenty and splinters be few!!!
Thanks,
Shannon

Hey Matt- thanks! The guitar string ring was challenging and took some trial and error. I didn’t want to compromise my love for clean lines.

Welcome Back Shannon! You have been missed, but it is good to see that your time away was spent taking your craft to new levels. All of these rings are stunningly beautiful.
Now the questions:
1. Are those mountains laser engraved or hand carved and what is the inlay material?
2. What is the material for the thumbnail picture in the center on the right? (the light colored exterior with the darker wood interior.)
Best wishes to you for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2019!

Hi John-
Its good to be back! I am love seeing all the projects. everyone is so inspiring on this forum.
The two mountains are laser engraved and filed with silver powder.
The light colored ring is Antler (Naturally shed) exterior with a bentwood snakewood liner. I forgot to add the snakewood in my initial post.
Wishing you all the best for 2019!

Beautiful work. I envy people who get the guitar string inlays so well done. The skill has thus far eluded me :p
