SAUSAGE CUTTING BOARDS

I was challenged to make some narrow cutting boards with rounded groove on top, for sausages. I made them of walnut, oak, ash, cherry and apple. Finish food friendly wood oil. Dimensions 50×7.5 cm, 20mm overal thickness. The rounded groove is 8 mm deep and I made it on tablesaw in 4 steps (3rd photo). Last angle cut I made on bandsaw with quickly made simple jig (4th photo), guided along bandsaw fence. Realy quick and fun to make.

looking good Ivan!

My wife makes filipino sausages for friends.
So I made her a modified Aldi cartridge gun first up to dispense the sausage product into the casings we bought from the local butcher.
She did so well out of it I bought her a proper Sausage machine Avanti.

She is really enjoying it!

Clever idea to make the rounded groove for the sausage and then a flat section with a diagonal line for the cut pieces. They should be well received. Nice wood choices as well. I like it!!!

These look great Ivan! I like the slicing step and the jig you used to make them too.

Its kind of like a shooting board for sausage! lol. Cool idea. The first time I ever did cove cuts on a table saw I was a bit scared, my boss almost wouldn’t let me do it at teh time. Afterwards he was amazed how it turned out, so was I.
