The February “Artist Challenge” for the sixteen artists in our Artist Collective is to make something with the theme of “hearts” or “lovers.” I decided to make a heart shaped box for the challenge. It is made of Purpleheart with a Maple inlay. Hinges used are a pair of SOSS Hidden Hinges. Forming the recesses for them was the most challenging part of this project. Purpleheart is extremely hard and difficult to work. The finished box was flocked with blue flocking. Here are some photos.

I love this!!! Absolutely Fantastic. Great job making that purple heart shine, I know how hard it is to work, too!
