This project was so much fun since I learned a few new skills, like making a round cutting board, a homemade circle jig and how to install a swivel plate for a Lazy Susan.

I used maple, cherry and walnut for the cutting board that I glued up in 2 parts so I could run them through my planer before gluing together both halves.

I made a circle cutting jig using some scrap 1/4 ply that I attached to my router’s base, then went round and round a pivot point (a nail) using an upspiral bit, progressively lowering the bit on each pass.

I got a little caught up in trying to get the square hardware perfectly centered on the round boards, but figured out a simple method in the end.

If you want to find out more and see how I made this Lazy Susan cheese board, you can watch the video HERE

Nice board/Susan. So whats not to like, a nice end result, a few firsts, and a great video to explain as I followed along.

That circle jig is a great help, now that you have it, you might start seeing more round things to make. Picture frames are pretty cool, everyone tries to make them square.

Thanks for posting.
