Another fun project. The three curved parts making up the top are of laminated Cherry. Because of the interlocking nature of the piece, the top is super strong.

An interlocking table top design I saw some years ago with quite different curves was intriguing to me. I borrowed the concept and redesigned it then changed the legs and joinery too. Getting the top parts to fit was a bit tricky since both of the edges where each meets are curved. Also, a change in any one of the three joints on the top requires a change in the remaining two to accomodate it.

A full sized paper template helped a lot. I designed one curved part, photographed it, modified it on Photoshop then reproduced it to full scale on a software I really like for that called BigPrint. It was much easier to mess up on paper than in wood.
