This Humidor was a commission. The box is 12 3/4×8 x 5 3/4 high. The sides are some of the best curly cherry I have seen. Splines & pull are Gaboon Ebony. Celtic knot is blood wood, ebony, and yellow heart. I glued those 3 in to blocks then resawed into strips about 1/8 thick. I used a pattern I created to layout all the pieces. Thanks for looking. There will be a 2nd one made for the children’s hospital auction.

Looks like lot of various jobs and technics on that box… – extraordinary work, great details and woodworking elements.

I like that box. The Cherry is quite impressive, but everything works to make it more so. Did the person commissioning you just ask for a size, and you filled in the woods, or did they pick that combo?

Thanks for posting.

I was asked to use the “best materials” The curly cherry I had, and was willing to use for this box. I was not given a size. btw I don’t understand when a humidor maker says the humidor is a “100” count. Cigars are different sizes, so how can you use that as a measurement? As far as the other choices for the wood , I thought the contrast would pop. I’m thinking of something like leopard wood in the future. I can make 3 more just like this with the materials I have. (at least the top)

Everyone else, thanks for looking and the comments.

Very nice, I like everything about this project. It is so beautifully done, even the sap wood adds to the eye-appeal. Congrats on the DT3
