This was a simple fun project getting to use various tools and some pretty wood. I wanted to get a project that the Grand Kid can do and use lots of different tools. I knew as soon as his mom saw this she wood want one and she would send him over to make one… ulterior motives are not always a bad thing really. The thing works pretty well too… Channels all the sound out in one direction and amplifies it pretty well.

Take pics for LJs w/ iPhone in landscape mode, home button to the right, and they’ll not post sideways. Nice project.

Thanks all… I really like the grand kid and love doing projects with him. It gets him off the computer games.
And my wife likes the smell of Cedar. When she hears the music and saws going she knows I am happy out in the shop.

Great idea to introduce kids into woodwork! I’m sure the music sounds good too!

I ended up making several of these for the various people in my family as everyone seemed to want one. Now I have even enjoyed using it while reading quietly and listening to music. They look pretty nice and actually work quite well.

Have your say...
