This is my version of a stand for a Porta Band. So many designs out there, I liked one that allowed upright operation and chop saw operation, they wont over $200 for a factory version that is thick sheet metal. It was a bit of a challenge to figure out both, as you can see, I used a drill press vice for the chop clamp and a piece of black Melamine for the table. To turn it on and off I made a piece of plywood that is a ramp that slides into the trigger and turns on the saw, it still works as variable speed. The assembly is bed frame (my favorite free metal). The miter gauge allows a nice square cut, I use it for both wood and metal, the variable speed allows a nice slow cut.
