My daughter gave me these as somewhat of a challenge. She wanted to put flowers and such in them but left it up to me to come up with a design. She wanted a single tube holder and one that would hold four. Also they had to match. I made it out of Purple heart (her favorite wood) and I have some maple logs that were dry enough to use as a background. I should of taken a picture of the 4 with food coloring I put in it. It looked cool. But it’s up to her what she going to do with them. I added double stick tape on the back so she can attach them to her kitchen cabinets.

Nicely worked out Dave, you certainly answered the challenge, will look great with a flower in each of them.
Like the purple heart as a contrast color. Well done.

WOW!! They are really attractive.
Great job Dave.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Your version of the wall mounted bud vase looks so much nicer than the ones at Hobby Lobby and other crafty stores. I’m sure it was also a lot less expensive. The Purpleheart and Maple make a nice contrast. This would be a great craft fair idea for woodworkers that do craft fairs.

What a great way to display your favorite bud’s! I like that the tubes can be removed for cleaning. And your colored water idea would enhance the way they look. I can imagine an endless combinations of arrangements!

Thanks Bob. She was happy the way they turned out and said she needed to go out and get a variety of artificial flowers for now.

Joe, sounds like you were really into chemistry. Hope by close calls you don’t mean you almost blew the place up. LOL.

Thanks Bob W. The purple heart was a good contrast for the light wood.

Ivan thanks. I told her of the colored water idea just to give her a few more ideas. I guess you can come up with a lot of ideas of things to put in them.

Thanks Tom. I was happy not to break any of those tubes while in the process.

Thanks Dave. At first I had thinkers block. I couldn’t come up with anything that I liked. I think when you’re trying to make an easy project different is when it becomes more difficult. LOL.

Tooch, she has already sent me a few pics of different ideas of what to put in them. Now she has to make up her mind.

EarlS, that’s a good idea. Never thought of that. You don’t see much of these around and people like that. I should make more of these.

Thanks Tony. She bought different flowers to put in them and I gave her some other ideas. I also thought different color sand in them would look cool. I even thought of using them in the shop but I’m afraid I’ll end up breaking the glass. I bet it would be great for people who have a garden of flowers who can change them all the time.

Thanks Roger.

Thanks pottz. It was mostly her idea, I just had to give it some design.

Jeff it worked out for both of us. My daughter gets the holders and I get some extra tubes to do something else with.
