I had to build this gate so that it would fit beside the cabinet on the right when folded, under the curtains and allow the cats to go through.

It’s made out of wood I salvaged from a skid in the driveway. The cat door is plex bought at Lowes sandwiched in a piece of wood held in place with some #7 screws. It rotates on shelf pins embedded into the vertical rails on either side. The entire gate is built with pocket hole screws and glue. When slid shut, you can only see some of the screws around the cat door.

It slides shut on some full extension drawer slides, rotates on a piano hinge for strength is a kid tries to climb it and the latch is a window sash closure that latches to a #7 screw through one of the gate bracing on the latch side.

It’s been a while since I have been able to build something as I’m currently SLOWLY building myself a workshop and necessity forced me to have to dig out tools to make this.

I might have to make it taller at some point if one of the kids successfully climbs it.

First project post on here! Hopefully many more!
