I used 1 1/16” maple so I could do lots of ups and downs in this picture. The third picture shows what I started out trying to copy. It took a couple of weeks and then some from start to finish. Lots of different colors in this picture. A guy mentioned this didn’t take place in a hospital so I was trying to tone down my version. Anyway, I getting ready for next christmas a little early for wife and I were going night and day with nativity scenes right up to Christmas eve and we still have 6 more in the works for next time also. Poor baby for I just now see I had cut his left hand off but when I was in the making of this picture I thought he had his left hand under the quilt??? Maybe next time I remember will. Semi-gloss lacquer was the finish and acetone thinned dye stain colored all the pieces.
