Knife Holder

Tired of the kitchen knives banging around in the drawer, I grabbed an old piece of closet rod and a scrap of ply and made a simple holder. Sanded it down and sprayed it white to match the drawer. It’s has two “levels” to increase how many knives can fit in our narrow drawer, while still leaving space to get fingers between the handles to pick one up.

It does the job, but it’s hard to tell which knife is which, since we can’t really see the side view of the blades, just the back edge. If I had wider drawer I’d turn the holder sideways, parallel to the drawer front.

Until I come up with a better idea for our small drawer, this will at least protect the edges and keep things organized. Any ideas?

I need one of those. Great simple idea.

Looks like there are some Cutco knives in there.

I just have to figure how to accommodate a chinese cleaver in that holder as it is wider and has to lay on it’s side.

Thanks Ivan. Tyvek – yes, many Cutco knives. If you look on the far right, I cut the last slot wider than the others to fit my Cutco cleaver. Not sure how tall yours is but mine fits in the drawer vertical, just needed a wider slot for the thick blade.
