This is intarsia number four for me. I just recently upgraded my scroll saw a couple months ago and as a result everyone got a scroll-sawn Christmas! I’ll post the other projects soon.

For the heron: Poplar for the entire bird and part of the water. Cedar for the grass and part of the water. Particle board backing. Clear lacquer finish.

Beautiful green, gray and brown colours. The bird looks pretty realistic.

I’ve been reading your blog about this project, glad to see the end product. It turned out beautiful, great grain and color choices make it very realistic looking. I’ve been interested in intarsia, just haven’t delved in yet. This is inspiring!
