Some recent benches I've made

Been chainsaw carving for about a year now. It’s pretty rewarding. I enjoy carving animals and free standing sculptures. These benches are a lot of fun though. The backrest and sides are like a canvas. I milled most of these slabs myself. The wormwood bench was cut on my buddies bandsaw. It sits in my carving area for now so I have somewhere to sit and eat.

I call the second bench my interpretive bench. Some people think it’s a leaf. Others think it’s a feather. I leave it up to them to decide if they ask.

Happy New Years!

Nice work on all of them, but that first Salmon bench is pretty amazing. I also like the legs on the leaf bench.

Thanks everyone. I’m currently working on two commissioned benches. One is another simple salmon bench. The other is quite a bit more complicated. Will have some router work in the back and carvings on each end.

All great, but I love the salmon bench the most.

Beautiful work. They all look amazing. What is the size of the tree to have a comfortable seat and back??
Around here I can only get lie 18 inches in diameter….hard to make the seat deep enough for a comfortable bench.

love the work you did on those benches.
