Alumilite and found Burl casting. Should have dried wood in oven, as it didn’t let all areas full cure. Still learning on casting techniques. Did allow curing in pressure pot for a few hours. Wood airdried for 1 yr but must have still had moisture. Pleased with project but will improve on next attempt.

I have successfully used the microwave for drying wood to turn as pens.
I wonder if you could do it with your piece before doing the casting.
I haven’t experimented with larger pieces.
This is what I do for the pens:
I cut a 1” x 1” x 12” piece that does not include the pith.
Put it in the microwave at 10% or Power 1 for 5 min.
Let cool a little while. Continue till there’s a ring when tapped on a hard surface.
Usually, I need to use the center 6” for the pen blank.

Another way would be stabilize the wood first and then ad the resin
