Table Top Inverted Jig Saw

So my daughter owns a small gift shop creating small wooden items for weddings, christening and mainly gifts for the kids and almost everything is hand grafted.
From time to time she ask my help cutting wood for her, but I’m in a bit of a distance and is not always convenient for her or me to go back and forth.
So I decided to build for her a Table Top Inverted Jig Saw Box with some extra functions from whatever I had available in the shop.
Besides I spend a good week cleaning and re-arranging my workshop, so I thought it was a good time to build her something as a Christmas present.

The Table Top Inverted Jig Saw Box that I come up with has a few accessories that might come handy to her.
The main box is built mostly out of melamine so that it has a nice slide, and a fully adjustable blade head with ball bearings for guiding the blade, a miter slot, and a hard wood edge.
I use an aluminum track of a sort to slide its melamine fence for straight cuts.
I made a miter gauge with a protractor for cutting angles.
Also I made her a cutting circle table attachment.

Hope she likes it and put it in good use.

Happy Holidays to Everyone

Stelios,

Very cool! I always wander if saw dust will affect jig saw in such application. What is your opinion/experience?

Thank you Torus my friend.
I’ve been using inverted Jig Saws since I started woodworking and I never had an issue with saw dust affecting the tool.

Happy New Year 2019 buddy :)

You are a very clever fellow. I like the upper guide for the blade. I have to make one . One question; how do you change blades? It looks like you have to remove the saw from the table to do that.
