I have finally finished this Memory Box for my friend Tom who lost his son. I wanted to make something special, so I chose ebony for the outer box. It is a cover that fits over a maple box that can hold things of special meaning. The inner box is maple and fits snugly into a walnut base with another ebony piece on the bottom. The maple box stays in the base when the ebony cover is lifted.

Tom is coming out to pick the boxes up and we will laser engrave all the information onto them at that time.

A very nice, stately, and appropriate look for a memory box. You have served your friendship well.

Beautiful design along with brilliant execution with the colors evoking sorrow at the loss of Tom’s son. Tom is lucky to have you as a friend.

Very unique box, you did an outstanding job. The walnut almost looks like stone compared to the ebony, very regal.

What a treasure this is, your friend will surely be blown away. Spectacular pieces of all the wood species you used. +1 on what John D said, how the walnut almost looks like stone and also just simply ‘regal’. Wonderful work you did. Would very much like to see the engraving when it is finished.
