Made several Cutting boards with Texas Star inlaid with Maple and the some with Turquoise with system 3 epoxy. I cut a star template out using my scroll saw and used a pattern router bit to rout out the star. I used Maple, Cherry and Walnut. Smaller cutting boards Walnut, Maple, Oak, Padauk. I coated them in mineral Oil only.

Great idea with the flag.
How did you attach the star piece to the others?
Biscuit, glue, dowel, spline, Kreg jig on bottom,......?

These look great and from the Lone Star State!
My wife will want one to match her “Texas” clock we got in Abilene in 1983.

I attached with 12mm Domino’s and glued together using Ultimate Wood Glue (Water Proof) For the star inlay I used the same Ultimate Wood Glue.
