My sister in law asked for a box for Christmas so Santa came through. This box is made of Ziricote with with maple as the accent in the dovetail. I used 5 cotes of gloss polyurethane for the finish rubbed out and a final coat of polish to give it that smooth feel. I put small cabinet bumpers on the bottom for feet to keep it from being scratched. Key to the project is very sharp router bits because Ziricote is a bit brittle to work with.

That dovetail accent is amazing… Looks like a lot of work.

Folks, thanks so much for the kind words. I just can’t make a simple box any more. Once you understand the process for the double dovetail it really isn’t that much extra work.
