It takes a lot to make a good box, a lot of wood, a lot of accuracy, a lot of attention to detail, and then if you have inserts like this, it makes it doubly difficult. Great job on the beautiful clean joinery, the perfect corner to corner grain matching, and the tasteul choice of wood for the inserts. A real masterpiece.

You’re right, you just can’t believe just how much wood goes into a box this size.
Luckily, gotter done with just one board, so color and grain matched was good.

Totally agree on the flawless corner matches. If you hadn’t mentioned it, nobody would have known this intricate piece of work was a last-minute request. It looks like a lot of work!
