Our granddaughter will be getting her first doll for Christmas this year and I thought it only fitting to make a cradle to go with it. Grandma crocheted the blanket to finish it off. The cradle us made from some mahogany that was inherited from my f-i-l over 30 years ago. The unicorns were applied by transferring a laser image with acrylic paste like Mod-Podge. I then applied 3 coats of GF High Performance semi-gloss.

I think this is really beautiful and well done. Very impressive, especially the imaging.

Mike,

The doll cradle turned out beautifully….. I really like the design, too…It reminds me of a Shaker-style cradle that the Shaker craftsman used to build for their children when they were born back in the 18th-19th century….Excellent job, my friend, and I’m pretty sure your granddaughter is going to really like it….!!
