My neigbor wanted me to make an urn for his remains when the time comes. He said he had some wood that came from an old dresser that had been in their family farm but had been relegated to the garage for a work bench for several yiears. What he gave me had about 10 layers of old paint that once I removed it looked pretty nice. Turn out it was cherry so I proceeded to make his urn from that. For the finish I just used several coats of Briwax.

What a beautiful commission. I would be so honoured if someone asked me to do something similar in my lifetime for a friend…
