King size bed I designed for the beach condo we just bought. It turns out that I have to build a lot of stuff for the condo so I’ll post more projects soon.
Construction: mortise and tenon throughout with floating panels. Legs are cut from solid cherry. Almost no straight parts (curves everywhere). Solid cherry used except for the mattress support.
Finish: sprayed shellac
The stiles at the top of the headboard are a special request from my wife so that the bed remind her of the look of a wood ship (added about 3-4 hours to the whole project).
I’m building now to night stands to go with the bed and a small chest of drawers.
Thanks for looking,
Alin
P.S. I only had my old camera with me when I took the picture. I’ll take my “professional” camera next time and get more and better pictures.

That is a very nice looking bed. The curves in the legs and foot/head board really make it stand out. It has sort of a contemporary/almost asian look to it. I really like it. Good job.

Nice looking bed. The subtle curves are great and makes it unique. Very cool!
