Walnut Cutting Board......Brick and Mortar Pattern….....
Another chance to make something out of ”very little”.
A friend gave me another walnut board, full of knots and cracks, but with some areas that were still good. The small good sections yeilded enough “bricks’ to create this brick and mortar pattern cutting board. It is about 10 by 15 inches and 1 inch thick with a radius end cut. The “mortar” is 1/4 inch oak. All of the edges are done with a !/4 inch roundover, and the whole board is sanded to 220 and treated to a liberal coat of blutcher block oil.
Somewhere along the line, a guy told me to treat the board with oil…..._”every day for a week, every week for a month, and every month for the rest of its life.”
