Project Information

I have learned a lot by lurking here over the last while, figured I would post my last project. I had found a a little spalted maple a while back and milled and dried it and also had been given a little walnut.

Box is 8×5x4 with the live edge lid, walnut hinges and bottoms of tray and box, cleats and splines Finish is Danish Oil.

I had to create 2 jigs for the splines as well as the cleats in the lid. After looking here I found the cleats to be the best method to stop the lid from moving. I built a small jig with a hold down to allow me to create a blind dovetail and drive two pieces of walnut to hopefully stop any movement, so far so good.

This site has been an invaluable resource to continue to learn.

Cheers
