Just a box. Western maple with a bit of walnut. Used this William Ng jig for the box joints.
I like making box joints but they never come out as “clean” as the ones I see on LJ.

Interesting lid design, I like it.
Don’t beat yourself up, you just need to know to fix them. I’m sure there are many on this site that use the sawdust and glue trick to sometimes make joints look better than they are. I saw this done on youtube, tried it and was amazed how well it works. I’m not sure if it works when you stain the wood because the glue won’t take the color.
