This was just a fun, manly project I’ve wanted to try to do for awhile. I got a maple log and let it dry for a couple to three years. Found a white oak hand rail in the trash and used the maple log for the head and oak rail for the handle. My family gives me funny looks because they don’t understand why give to “Uncle Bob” my wife’s uncle. He’s a mechanical engineer and a smart but super nice guy. As smart and precise as he is he loves to restore old tractors and loves things that just get the job done. He has a family lake house that he rents out and as a joke (because he’s so nice) I’m going to tell him if anybody tries to skip out with out paying he can use this “precisely” calibrated tool to negotiate a payment. haha. Bottom line I just wanted to make something fun and give to someone else for a novelty and conversation starter. Thanks for taken a look.

That is a great take on a “Commander”/”Beetle”. Funny story too.

Many years ago I had a piece of wood with “green engineer trainer” written on it leaning against the office wall.
Quite a few new engineers asked what it was for, thankfully I never had to use it in anger !
I like your version better.

I like it!

Should work well as a negotiation tool or conversation piece… don’t make me decide :P

If that won’t do it nothing will.
