This is my second attempt at a band saw box and it will be a Christmas gift for my niece. It was crafted out of a cedar 4×4 and is actually two boxes glued together. I was happy that the joint between the two boxes turned out to be barely visible. Just think of it as a box on top of another box. I ended up opting for maple knobs and lined the drawers with blue flocking. This was my first attempt with flocking and was surprised at how easy it is to achieve such a nice finish! The finish on the box is three coats of Tung oil to bring out the grain followed by three coats of satin wipe on poly. I’m happy with the way it turned out and will definitely be making more of these in the future!

That’s a real nice box; it’s unusual.

Stan, I really dig the organic form of the drawer cutouts, very unique and appealing box.
Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Well done, the union of two to one worked well!

Heres to seeing more of your bandsawn boxes?

Helluva nice box StaN! I’m really impressed – the box-on-top-of-box idea turned out really nice! The finish looks fantastic too! Makes me even more motivated to try one of these myself. P.S. – that TonyWard that commented here has some really crazy boxes – out of the box stuff!?

Great job man! That’s gonna make for a heck of a gift.

Great box and wonderfully executed to boot, I like the flocking as well

-- Norman - I never never make a mistake, I just change the design.
