I’ve actually had this project finished for a couple of years and have been meaning to get a small plaque made for it saying ”For Happy Hour Ring This Bell and Hour” Seems I never got around to getting the plaque made.

Anyways, The Bell is beautiful, Cast Iron (I think) with an authentic leather band (they told me it was hand made), I bought it at the top of Europe on the famous mountain top called Aiguille du Midi accessed from Chamonix France.

I needed someway of ringing the bell so I kind of came up with a canter leaver system which works well. Pull the chain and the bell moves up release and it rings. Built from Canadian Maple and Coated with some gloss Varnish.

Not sure how a bell like this would be hand made, I,d be interested to hear.
Thanks for reading, (its 5 o clock somewhere)

Anthony

Thank you GR8 , yes the canter leaver worked in the end, I had to experiment a bit with where to get the pivot point correct with the Bell weight verses chain pull tension type of thing.

Just a sec I need to ring the bell.

Now that clock, when I was working if I ever got on a non Boeing aircraft, when nobody was looking one of these mysteriously appeared on the back of the seat behind the folding tray just before I landed!
