With a little girl and 3 dogs, the queen size bed was not cutting it anymore. I had gotten better at woodworking and decided I would build a frame for our newly bought king size mattress. I used poplar, and birch plywood for the base along with 2×4s for support. Mortise and tenon joints along with some serious lag bolts in the bottom of the bed posts to secure to the base, this thing is crazy sturdy. Dark walnut stain and finished with polyurethane on the frame sides, and spray on lacquer on the base.

Cool build. Is the idea that the dogs can sleep under the bed??
