I was asked to make a Texas flag for a customer, so I figured out the dimensions I wanted and respectively worked out the ratio to be correct. I found this beautiful piece of 1”x12”x7’ Ambrosia Maple at my local Woodcraft marked down because it had a big knot hole in it about 2/3 the way thru the length of the board. I snatched it up, bought some Unicorn Spit and got to work. Honestly the most difficult part (for me) was making a star the correct size that I could trace for the etching out. Finished with spray on lacquer and buffed to a shine. I wanted to make a frame but the customer declined.
