Very nice. I tried chip carving once, and it seemed like I never had the right tool for what I wanted to do.

Really nice work though, thanks for posting.

Indeed, nice work! Those designs are ones I may try soon. Are they your own designs, or what?

@theRealSteveN- When I started carving, I knew very little except that the tools would carve the wood. I had no chip carving knives, and the carving tools I had didn't fit the bill. Live and learn!

If you'd like to give chip carving another try, I'll help you find success quickly. You can start with just one knife!

Hey Dark Lightning! Yes, the ornament patterns are my designs, but I'm happy to share! Let me know if you'd like some and share your email address with me. Mine is info@mychipcarving.com

That's an awesome tradition. I also make at least one ornament each year, though I've never carved any. I'm slowly learning to chip carve but so far the only thing impressive I've managed is the blister on my index finger! I think I'll follow in your footsteps and take some pictures of the ornaments I've made also, when I put my tree up that is.

Very nicely done.

I also like very much that they are your designs AND you will gladly share. This what community is about!

Great! I'd enjoy seeing your pictures as you start carving in the years to come. Some of my friends who have received ornaments for years decorate their entire tree with them! Some display them 12 months a year :)
