my mother-in-law called me the other day and said she needed my help with a furniture project. i went over to her house and she had this old firescreen that she wanted to use as a headboard. she must have watched too much HGTV or something. she wanted me to just cut a couple of boards to raise it up higher, so that it could be leaned against the wall. i told her i had a better idea and took the screen with me. this is what i came up with. it’s basically just a big frame for the screen with a sides being 2”x3.5” posts. it’s all walnut, and is finished with gloss poly. it could almost pass for a headboard now.

Very nice concept
